Take Your Homewear Style To The Next Level

No one really wants to wear their best clothes at home. There are just a million ways for it to get dirty. The oil splashing while you’re cooking, the dogs putting their muddy paws on you, and don’t get me started on the late night messy snacking! (I know I’m not the only one!) It’s easy to give up and wear the same old raggedy looking clothes over and over again.

Well, they are comfortable, and no one will see you, so what’s the harm, right?

WRONG! You see you!

You are fully aware of what you are wearing and how you look even if you’re not actively thinking about it. What you see your brain sees. When you walk pass the mirror looking like a mess, your brain is thinking “oh… well I’m a mess today.” That affects the type of energy that you put out.

But when you look good and you catch a glimpse of your fetching self in the mirror, then your brain is like “hey girl! How you doin’!?” You feel good and that can have such an impact on your mood.

So, a tip that I have for you for dressing at home is to wear patterns. The busier, the better, because if you get a stain on it while cooking, it will be much less noticeable. For example, in the above picture of me pretending to cook, the main color on the dress is a dark blue and the floral print acts as a camouflage, making it harder to see any imperfections and stains. If I get a little splash on it, I might not even know that it happened.

Now that doesn’t mean that you should never replace these clothes! I’m talking about a few minor stains here. At some point, the clothes have served their purpose and it’s time for them to go.

I love a dress for homewear, because it makes me feel free, comfortable, and feminine.

Home is your safe place, but it’s not your place of hiding. This is where you can safely experiment with a lot of creative looks and have fun! You can be more daring and maybe even dress sexier than you might be comfortable dressing in front of others.
